Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Patent Associate Attorney with at least 2 years of prosecution experience, preferably at a firm or in-house. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, or Robotics. The role involves handling patent analysis, opinions of counsel, and Inter Partes Reviews (IPRs). Additional experience with blockchain, distributed ledgers, video codec, cloud platforms and computing is highly desirable. Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is a plus.

Duties:

  • Conduct patent prosecution and portfolio management.
  • Perform patent analysis and provide opinions of counsel.
  • Handle Inter Partes Reviews (IPRs) and related matters.
  • Collaborate on issues related to blockchain, distributed ledgers, video codecs, cloud platforms, and computing.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of prosecution experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, or Robotics.
  • Involvement with patent analysis/opinions of counsel and IPRs is a plus.
  • Experience with blockchain, distributed ledgers, video codec, cloud platforms and computing is a plus.
  • Admission to the USPTO is a plus.

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, or Robotics.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is a plus.
