A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its personal injury practice in West Des Moines, IA.

Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will be responsible for drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, providing brief writing support, client screening, trial preparation, and assisting litigation attorneys as needed.

Duties:

• Drafting summonses, complaints, motions, discovery requests, and other pleadings
• Conducting comprehensive legal research
• Writing briefs and legal memoranda
• Screening potential clients for viability of representation
• Assisting in trial preparation activities
• Undertaking other duties as assigned by senior litigation attorneys

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate
• License to practice law by the Iowa State Bar
• Demonstrated superior customer service skills
• Innovative problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
• Proficiency in multitasking within a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel
• High level of professionalism and commitment to confidentiality

Education and Certifications:
