Job Overview: A law firm in Oakland, CA, is seeking a seasoned Franchise Attorney with expertise in drafting legal documents, advising clients on compliance matters, and managing various aspects of franchise law. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, extensive legal knowledge, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.

Job Duties:

  • Draft and revise Franchise Disclosure Documents and related contractual agreements
  • Respond to comment letters from state regulators
  • Advise clients regarding franchise sales compliance, renewals, and terminations
  • Analyze and implement exemption-based franchise sales strategies
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including master service agreements, license agreements, and customer contracts

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • California Bar license in good standing
  • 5+ years of Franchise Law experience; experience in Real Estate and Corporate transactional work preferred; Litigation, Trademark, and/or Data Privacy experience a significant plus
