A law firm in Richmond is seeking an experienced Tax Attorney with a focus on tax and transactional matters. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in mergers and acquisitions, multistate tax issues, federal, state, and local tax controversies, as well as experience in global transactions, restructuring, private equity, and venture capital.

 

Duties:

  • Handle tax-related legal matters, including mergers and acquisitions, multistate tax issues, federal, state, and local tax controversies, global transactions, restructurings, private equity, and venture capital.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews for various transactions.
  • Provide expertise in federal and state tax incentives.
  • Perform technical research on tax matters.
  • Ensure compliance with tax return requirements.
  • Bring expertise in employee benefits matters.
  • Represent public and private organizations with local, national, and multinational operations.

 

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of experience in a law firm or clerkship setting.
  • Extensive experience in tax and transactional matters.
  • Prior experience in a law firm environment is highly preferred.
  • Admitted to practice in the state.
  • Strong writing and analytical skills.
  • Excellent academic background.
  • Proven ability to represent organizations with diverse operational scales.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice law in the state.

 

Skills:
