Job Overview:
A prominent law firm located in Edwardsville, IL, is seeking a motivated and skilled litigation attorney with 3-7 years of substantive litigation experience. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a diverse caseload within a collaborative legal environment and includes a clear path toward firm partnership. The position supports a broad litigation practice involving complex disputes, from initial investigation through trial, across multiple industries and legal areas.

Duties:

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda across varied litigation areas

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and provide strategic analysis

  • Manage discovery processes, including depositions, subpoenas, and document production

  • Participate in court proceedings such as hearings and motion practice

  • Work with senior attorneys and litigation teams to develop case strategies

  • Handle matters in personal injury, product liability, construction disputes, employment, and commercial litigation

  • Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal staff to advance litigation goals

Requirements:

  • 3-7 years of litigation experience with a law firm or in-house legal department

  • Demonstrated ability to handle litigation files with minimal supervision

  • Strong understanding of procedural and substantive law

  • Licensed to practice in Illinois or Missouri; willingness to obtain the reciprocal state license if not already held

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active and good standing with the Illinois or Missouri bar (dual licensure or willingness to obtain both is preferred)

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal writing and analytical abilities

  • High proficiency in litigation management and courtroom advocacy

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Proficient in legal research platforms and case management tools
