While our firm may be new to you, we are a long-time Seattle law firm originally established in 1956 as a partnership between Lawrence Hennings, William L. Maltman, and John R. Weber as a general practice law firm. The law firm represented individuals and businesses primarily as a "general civil and trial practice" as it was known then. The firm's home was in the Northern Life Tower. In the early 1960s, the firm relocated to the Central Building on 3rd Avenue between Columbia and Marion. In 1977, Fredric D. Reed became a partner and the firm was re-named as Hennings, Maltman, Weber & Reed. In 1980, the firm again relocated to the Norton Building on 2nd Avenue between Marion and Columbia, which remains our present day home. The next members to join the firm, in order, were Douglass A. North, Douglas W. Ahrens, Michael C. Malnati, Linda Lau, Michael J. Longyear, Christina L. Corwin, Jason W. Burnett, Shane L. Yelish, Noah K. Williams, Carla Calogero and Celeste McDonell. Two former members have become judges: Douglass A. North, with King County Superior Court; and Linda Lau, who previously served on the King County Superior Court and is now with the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division 1. Associate attorneys to join the firm, in order, were Larissa L. Chan, Anton B. Cauthorn, Carry Porter, Mary Anne Vance, Jennifer Song, Joshua Reinertson, and Kristin Kelly. In 2001, the firm changed to its present name of Reed Longyear Malnati & Ahrens, PLLC. The general emphasis of the firm's practice has remained unchanged over the past 60 years. We continue to represent individuals, businesses and families in the same spirit of integrity established by our founding members.
