This is one of the youngest, as well as one of the most prestigious, of Chicago's major law firms. This firm has a strong entrepreneurial bent, and since its inception has grown tremendously with the explosive rise of startups and emerging technology companies. The firms and specializes in litigation, corporate, finance and real estate law. Instead of Fortune 500 companies as clients, the firm primarily relies on the historical base of entrepreneurial, diversified small clients that have grown quickly with the firm. Likewise, the slowdown of the high tech industry has constricted the firm's growth, and some say the growth will slow down, or perhaps decline, before the activity pick up again. But the firm is on solid ground and will once again ride the wave to greater success. Be assured that the firm does have its share of large corporate companies as clients. Because the partners are mostly younger than their counterparts at other firms, the place feels less institutional and hierarchal. Just about all associates bill over 2000 hours per year, but bonus is above 2200, to which the firm strictly adheres. Compensation is top market. Attorneys at the firms take the practice of law very seriously, and put out a great product for the clients. Accordingly, work is the primary focus of the lawyers at the firm, and the firm is not a place for the weak or timid, which is not to say people there are not nice. Both partners and associates leave their doors open and are approachable. You must have stellar academic credentials and meaningful law firm experience to work here. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to work hard, produce great work product, and get highly compensated in the process.1 2018-05-30 17:30:17
