Akerman LLP

Akerman LLP has a fantastic human resources and leadership team, and my interactions with the firm have been overwhelmingly positive.
Our staff was deeply impressed by Danielle Shannon's professional behavior and well-posed questions during our interactions.

BCG Attorney Search speaks with attorneys about law firms every day. Here is what attorneys are saying:

Akerman is a law firm that offers a wide variety of services to their clients. Reviews from attorneys and others who have worked at Akerman are overwhelmingly positive. People praise the positive energy and kind people, busy schedule, decent pay, good benefits, and annual bonus. They also appreciate that Akerman offers most federal holidays off, multiple times to get bonuses, and the ability to work from home. Additionally, they praise the generous benefits, such as bringing your pets and kids to work prior to covid, as well as being well fed and wined and dined.

However, there are some negative reviews. People mention that the pay is not as much as the rest of the market, and that working for lawyers is not easy. They also mention that there is not always enough room for growth, and that the pay could be greater. Additionally, people have mentioned that the dysfunction across departments, antiquated practices and PGLs, unfriendly culture, and scarce resources and rewards all contribute to a lack of focus on executing high quality and innovative work that would move the firm forward.

Overall, Akerman is a law firm with a positive atmosphere and generous benefits. Although the pay could be higher, people are overall happy with their experience and recommend Akerman as a great place to work. People also hope to see more in person interaction in the future.
