Job Overview

A law firm seeks a bilingual (English/Spanish) litigation attorney with immigration experience to join their team in San Diego, CA. This role focuses on supporting courtroom activities, allowing lead attorneys to concentrate on consultations and strategy. The position offers a dynamic opportunity to impact litigation and advocacy without direct client consultations.

Duties

  • Represent clients in EOIR hearings, BIA and AAO appeals, Federal Court proceedings, USCIS interviews, ICE check-ins, and guardianship hearings.
  • Draft and file motions, briefs, appeals, and responses to RFE/NOID.
  • Prepare case files and legal strategies for interviews, hearings, and appeals.
  • Collaborate with lead attorneys to ensure timely, high-quality litigation support.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law (California Bar preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of immigration law experience, with a strong focus on litigation.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and courtroom advocacy skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel for hearings, interviews, and conferences.
  • Deep commitment to immigrant rights and social justice.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in California (preferred).
