Family Law Associate Attorney

Duties:

• Manage a diverse caseload involving divorce, child custody, alimony, child support, and property division cases.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents and pleadings while ensuring compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements.
• Represent clients in court hearings, settlement conferences, and mediation sessions.
• Provide clear and empathetic communication to clients about their legal options, case progress, and potential outcomes.
• Negotiate settlements effectively on behalf of clients to achieve favorable resolutions.
• Collaborate with legal staff and other attorneys to ensure cohesive and comprehensive case management.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of family law statutes, case law, and practice guidelines.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Active bar license in good standing with the State Bar of Wisconsin.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in family law practice or 5+ years of relevant life experience showcasing developed empathy and interpersonal skills.
• Proven track record of effectively managing family law cases.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) required.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Wisconsin.
