Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Experienced Tax and Trust Planning Attorney in Vancouver, WA. This key role focuses on guiding clients through strategic estate and tax planning, collaborating with a dedicated legal team, and ensuring plans are built for long-term success.

Duties

  • Lead clients through customized estate and tax planning strategies, including advanced trusts and wealth transfer techniques.
  • Prepare and review estate planning documents, such as trusts, wills, and tax-focused instruments.
  • Translate complex tax and legal concepts into clear, client-friendly guidance.
  • Oversee the legal quality and progression of estate planning matters.
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to associate attorneys and paralegals.
  • Ensure compliance with current federal and state tax laws.
  • Conduct or oversee legal research in estate tax, gift tax, and asset preservation.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice in Washington; Oregon licensure is a bonus.
  • Deep understanding of estate tax planning and LLCs.
  • Excellent drafting, research, and communication skills.
  • High emotional intelligence, especially when supporting aging or grieving clients.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable in a modern, paper-lite environment.

Education

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice in Washington; Oregon licensure is a bonus.
