Job Overview:

A law firm based in Greenwood Village, CO, is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney with experience in both family and criminal law to support its litigation team. This role involves courtroom advocacy, case preparation, document drafting, legal research, and mentoring junior legal staff. The ideal candidate is proactive, client-focused, and thrives in a dynamic legal environment that emphasizes collaboration and professional development.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in court for family and criminal matters

  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including motions and pleadings

  • Conduct legal research and prepare related reports and correspondence

  • Collaborate with team members to triage and manage case assignments

  • Guide paralegals and support staff

  • Monitor updates to legal procedures and relevant statutes

  • Maintain accurate records using legal case management software

  • Participate actively in departmental growth and strategic planning

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Colorado

  • Ability to work onsite; remote work is not available at this time

  • 2-5 years of experience.

  • 1-3 years of experience in family and/or criminal law preferred

  • Comfortable with courtroom litigation and client representation

  • Experience in mentoring or supervising legal staff is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admittance to the Colorado State Bar

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and legal e-filing systems

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy under pressure

  • Confident with legal research and analysis
