A law firm in Denver, is seeking a Patent Agent/Technology Specialist with 3+ years of patent prosecution experience. The successful candidate will represent a variety of technology companies in patent prosecution matters, ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with associates and partners, gaining extensive experience in patent strategy, drafting, prosecution, and client interaction.

 

Duties:

  • Represent technology companies in patent prosecution matters.
  • Work one-on-one with associates and partners to develop patent strategies.
  • Draft patent applications and responses to office actions.
  • Conduct patentability searches and analyses.
  • Assist in due diligence investigations.
  • Interact directly with clients to understand their needs and provide counsel.

 

Requirements:

  • Master's degree (M.S. or M.Eng.) in a relevant field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Admission to practice before the USPTO or willingness to take and pass the USPTO registration exam within one year of being hired.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Background in computer science, electrical and computer engineering, or related fields.

 

Education:

Master's degree (M.S. or M.Eng.) in a relevant field.

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice before the USPTO preferred or willingness to obtain within one year of being hired.

 

Skills:

  • 3+ years of patent prosecution experience.
  • Proficiency in patent drafting and prosecution.
  • Ability to conduct patentability searches and analyses.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Detail-oriented approach to work.
