Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Coral Gables, FL, is seeking a litigation-focused attorney with a background in insurance defense. The ideal candidate will handle case strategy, drafting, negotiations, and court appearances, while also mentoring support staff and collaborating with partners on client matters. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in workers' compensation defense.

Duties:

• Draft and revise legal pleadings, contracts, and motions

• Conduct in-depth legal research across multiple jurisdictions

• Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and mediations

• Support senior legal team members with case strategy and execution

• Negotiate settlements and manage pre-trial procedures

• Ensure case documentation and client records remain thorough and up to date

• Supervise legal support staff, including paralegals and assistants

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Florida

• Proven litigation experience in insurance defense; a workers' compensation background is an advantage

• Strong analytical and negotiation skills

• Able to manage multiple matters simultaneously with attention to detail

• Skilled in legal writing and verbal advocacy

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active bar membership in good standing within the state of Florida

• Membership in legal professional organizations (e.g., ABA) is preferred

Skills:

• Proficiency with legal research tools and Microsoft Office

• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities

• Strong organizational habits and the ability to manage deadlines

• Capable of working both independently and within a team-based legal environment
