A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Mid-Senior Intellectual Property Associate Attorney. The Mid-Senior Intellectual Property Associate Attorney will be responsible for patent prosecution, strategic management of patent portfolios, freedom-to-operate opinions, due diligence analysis, and landscape analysis. The ideal candidate should have an Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree, be admitted to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (U.S.P.T.O.), and possess a very strong academic record coupled with the skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to succeed and advance at the firm.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct patent prosecution activities, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Manage and strategize patent portfolios for clients.
  • Provide freedom-to-operate opinions to clients.
  • Conduct due diligence analysis for intellectual property transactions.
  • Perform landscape analysis to assess intellectual property landscapes in various technology areas.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Admission to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (U.S.P.T.O.).
  • 3+ years of experience working on patent prosecution, patent portfolio management, freedom-to-operate opinions, due diligence analysis, and landscape analysis.
  • Very strong academic record.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to succeed and advance at the firm.

 

Education:

Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (U.S.P.T.O.).
