Job Overview:
A growing family law firm is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join its litigation team in the Chicago area. This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable courtroom experience, collaborate with a dynamic legal team, and advocate on behalf of clients in a variety of family law matters. Ideal candidates will be passionate about family law, possess strong litigation and motion practice skills, and be ready to take on a client-facing role with meaningful responsibilities from day one.

Location:

  • Chicago, IL

Duties:

  • Represent clients in family law matters including divorce, custody, support, and related litigation

  • Handle motion practice including drafting, filing, and arguing motions

  • Make regular court appearances in various counties throughout the Chicagoland area

  • Communicate with clients to provide updates, strategic advice, and legal guidance

  • Assist in trial preparation including gathering evidence, organizing exhibits, and preparing witnesses

  • Maintain detailed case files and ensure timely follow-up on case developments

  • Coordinate with other attorneys and staff across multiple office locations

Requirements:

  • Experience or demonstrated interest in family law litigation

  • Willingness to travel to courts and work in multiple office locations as needed

  • Excellent communication and time management skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-focused legal practice

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois

  • Member in good standing with the Illinois Bar

Skills:

  • Proficiency in motion drafting and legal writing

  • Strong courtroom advocacy and public speaking abilities

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a significant advantage

  • Familiarity with Illinois family law statutes and court procedures
