Defense Attorney - Financial Services Litigation

A law firm seeks an experienced Defense Attorney to join its financial services and banking litigation team in Miami, FL. This role involves handling complex cases in commercial litigation, financial services, bankruptcy, and debt collection litigation. The position offers a hybrid or fully remote work arrangement, provided candidates reside in Florida.

Duties:

• Conduct thorough legal research and draft various legal documents.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests in active litigation cases.
• Conduct and defend depositions to gather case information.
• Represent clients in court hearings and mediations.
• Prepare for and attend trials, advocating for client interests in financial services litigation.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience in commercial litigation, financial services litigation, bankruptcy, or debt collection.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Proactive, diligent, and responsive with strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Florida state courts.
• Admission to Florida federal courts is preferred.

Skills:

• Proficient in legal research and document drafting.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for effective client and courtroom advocacy.
