Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Trusts and Estates attorney to join their Philadelphia, PA practice. The candidate should possess strong tax and transactional expertise, with a focus on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning, as well as corporate and partnership tax issues related to business sales and succession planning.

Duties

• Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners on estate planning and wealth transfer strategies.
• Develop tax-efficient estate and business succession plans, including trusts and charitable structures.
• Collaborate with corporate teams on M&A matters involving tax considerations.
• Counsel clients on integrating estate and income tax planning with liquidity events.
• Draft and review complex estate planning documents.
• Maintain strong client relationships and coordinate with other professionals.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of experience in estate planning and federal tax law.
• Exposure to M&A or closely held business matters.
• Strong command of federal income, estate, and gift tax rules.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple complex matters.

Education

• J.D. required; LL.M. in Taxation strongly preferred.

Certifications

• Pennsylvania Bar admission.
