Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Associate Attorney or Junior Partner in Phoenix, AZ, with significant experience in estate and wealth planning, trust and estate administration, and business succession planning. The candidate will advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners on complex estate planning strategies, trust modifications, charitable giving, and succession planning. An active bar license in California and/or Arizona is a plus. A hybrid work structure is available.

Duties

  • Advise on complex estate and wealth transfer strategies.
  • Manage asset protection structures and trust administration.
  • Oversee business succession planning.
  • Develop charitable and philanthropic strategies.
  • Draft and implement planning documents, including trusts and agreements.
  • Collaborate with CPAs, wealth advisors, and family office teams.
  • Assist with family governance and multigenerational planning.
  • Identify and advise on tax issues.
  • Conduct legal and financial audits of client structures.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school; strong academic record.
  • 7+ years of experience in estate planning and trust administration.
  • Deep knowledge of federal estate, gift, and tax rules.
  • Proven ability to work with high-net-worth clients.
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills.
  • Experience with complex family dynamics.
  • Self-starter in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar license in any U.S. jurisdiction; California and/or Arizona preferred.

Skills

  • Advanced estate planning and tax techniques.
  • Strong analytical and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with asset protection and entity structuring.
  • Background in accounting or finance is beneficial.
