A law firm seeks a diligent attorney to support its commercial transactional and litigation practice in Timonium, MD. This role offers an opportunity to collaborate closely with seasoned counsel on diverse matters, from deal-making to dispute resolution, within a collegial, on-site environment.

Duties

  • Aid senior attorneys in structuring and negotiating business agreements, mergers, and acquisitions

  • Assist with pre-suit investigations, drafting demand letters, and managing case files

  • Prepare and review contracts, corporate governance documents, and other transactional materials

  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses for civil disputes

  • Participate in client meetings to gather facts, provide updates, and discuss legal strategy

  • Conduct legal research on statutory, regulatory, and case law issues relevant to clients’ needs

  • Collaborate with title professionals to facilitate real estate closings and resolve title issues

  • Support trial preparation: organize exhibits, assist with deposition summaries, and coordinate witness interviews

  • Attend hearings, mediations, and negotiations as needed under the guidance of lead counsel

Requirements

  • Active Maryland Bar licensure

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience handling corporate transactional matters and business litigation

  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple matters, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset—comfortable working as part of a unified team

  • Proficiency with legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent drafting abilities and attention to detail in both transactional documents and litigation filings

  • Demonstrated business development aptitude or willingness to cultivate client relationships

  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Membership in good standing with the Maryland State Bar Association
