Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Trial Attorney to join its team in Los Angeles, CA. The firm specializes in Plaintiff's Elder Abuse and Personal Injury cases, offering a dynamic and challenging work environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to making a difference for clients and contributing to the firm's success.

Duties

  • Communicate and manage relationships with clients, documenting contact in Litify.
  • Engage with opposing counsel and participate in discovery and motion drafting.
  • Take and defend depositions, and fully investigate each case.
  • Attend depositions, hearings, conferences, interviews, and trials.
  • Research applicable laws and interview witnesses and parties.
  • Prepare for and advocate at trial, aiming to try at least 3 cases per year to verdict.
  • Lead weekly calendar meetings with assigned paralegal.
  • Submit quarterly reporting of fees earned to the owner.
  • Maintain professional standards towards the firm and its clients.

Requirements

  • Active member of the State Bar of California in good standing.
  • Trial experience in the personal injury field.
  • Ability to manage 50+ litigation cases effectively.
  • Strong legal research, communication, and writing skills.
  • Proficiency in case management systems and general computer skills.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work independently and in a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active California Bar License.

Skills

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Litify software.
  • Strong focus on meeting individual and firm goals.
