Job Title: Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm based in Morristown, NJ, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented associate attorney to join its litigation practice group. The firm handles a wide array of matters, including commercial litigation, insurance defense, corporate advisory, real estate disputes, and trusts and estates matters. The ideal candidate will have prior hands-on litigation experience, strong legal writing skills, and a proactive mindset to manage sophisticated matters independently or as part of a team.

Duties:

• Handle litigation matters from inception through trial or resolution

• Draft pleadings, legal briefs, and other related litigation documents

• Conduct legal research, discovery, and depositions

• Prepare and argue motions in court

• Collaborate with colleagues on strategic case planning

• Interact with clients to provide updates, legal guidance, and develop litigation strategies

• Participate in settlement discussions and negotiations

Requirements:

• 2 years of litigation experience in a law firm setting

• Licensed and in good standing with the New Jersey Bar

• Ability to manage complex litigation with minimal supervision

• Excellent legal writing and research capabilities

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Commitment to client service and professional responsibility

• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and also independently

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the New Jersey State Bar (required)

• Additional Bar admissions in other jurisdictions (preferred)

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis)

• Strong verbal communication and courtroom advocacy skills

• Strategic thinking and problem-solving aptitude

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive matters
