A law firm in Tampa, FL, seeks an Intellectual Property Associate Attorney to enhance their dynamic team. This role demands an adept individual specializing in patent and trademark preparation, prosecution, and IP due diligence related to mergers and acquisitions. The ideal candidate will substantially support IP litigation and manage IP licensing agreements. This position requires a professional with a profound understanding of the chemical and mechanical arts and a proven track record in intellectual property law.

Duties:

  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications in the chemical and mechanical arts.
  • Manage design patent preparation and prosecution processes.
  • Handle trademark registration, preparation, and prosecution, including inter parte actions.
  • Conduct IP due diligence for mergers and acquisitions to assess risks and opportunities.
  • Support IP litigation cases, assist in legal research, draft pleadings, and prepare for trial.
  • Negotiate and draft IP licensing agreements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and achieving optimal client terms.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and paralegals to ensure cohesive strategy and execution in IP matters.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and legal rulings relevant to intellectual property.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of professional experience in intellectual property law.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Florida, or ability to gain admission.
  • Proven record of strong research and writing skills.
  • Exceptional project management skills, capable of managing multiple cases and deadlines effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Florida Bar, or eligibility for admission.

Skills:

  • Expert patent and trademark law knowledge, particularly in chemical and mechanical fields.
  • Strong analytical capabilities for complex legal issues.
