Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Title and Survey Attorney for its New York, NY office. The role involves managing title and survey review and real estate due diligence for various transactions within the Real Estate practice.

Duties

  • Manage and coordinate title and survey review for real estate transactions.
  • Review and summarize exceptions in title commitments.
  • Identify and analyze title issues and finalize proformas.
  • Assist with flood due diligence coordination.
  • Collaborate with deal attorneys to develop solutions for title issues.
  • Work with title companies and third parties to ensure accurate diligence completion.
  • Review commercial leases and prepare lease abstracts.
  • Analyze zoning reports and negotiate acceptable versions for closing.
  • Review commercial property purchase and sale agreements.
  • Negotiate key due diligence items with counterparties.
  • Supervise and review the work of junior attorneys.
  • Manage timely completion of due diligence deliverables.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six years of relevant experience in a law firm or title company.
  • Experience with real estate transactions of varying sizes.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage tight deadlines.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills

  • Proficiency in title and survey review.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
