Job Title: Cyber, Privacy, and Data Innovation Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Cyber, Privacy, and Data Innovation Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Austin, TX. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on a robust pipeline of sophisticated, innovative, and industry-leading litigation, including class actions, across a range of clients in the firm's industry verticals of technology, finance, life sciences, and energy. This role offers the chance to assume early and significant responsibility in managing all aspects of complex disputes and litigation, including direct client interaction, discovery management, depositions, court appearances, oral arguments, and mediations.

Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of complex disputes and litigation, including class actions, across various industry verticals.
  • Work directly with clients to understand their needs and objectives.
  • Manage all aspects of discovery with support from the firm's industry-leading eDiscovery, Analytics, and Litigation Support team.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Make court appearances and handle oral arguments at key hearings.
  • Handle mediations and negotiate settlements when appropriate.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Membership in the State Bar of the desired office is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently while also being a strong team member.
  • Proactive and critical thinker.
  • Noteworthy writing skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Membership to the State Bar of the desired office (strongly preferred).

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research abilities.
  • Superb writing and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex litigation matters efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and legal research databases.
