Job Overview

Duties

  • Manage cases and prepare discovery under supervision.
  • File motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures.
  • Negotiate settlements with guidance from a supervising attorney.
  • Communicate with clients regularly, at least every 30 days.
  • Progress to handling a full caseload, including appearances and depositions.

Requirements

  • Copy of passing CA Bar required (waiting to be sworn in is acceptable).
  • 0-3 years of experience in workers' compensation cases preferred.
  • Related insurance claims experience is advantageous.
  • Subrogation or civil litigation experience is a plus.
  • Lien or creditor experience is beneficial, though a specialist handles liens.
  • Reliable transportation for travel to different Boards.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • California Bar admission.
