Associate Criminal Defense Attorney

A law firm located in Stanislaus, CA is actively seeking an Associate Criminal Defense Attorney to enhance their dynamic team. This critical role involves managing a substantial caseload, directing client interactions, and working collaboratively with a team of attorneys and legal assistants. The candidate should have robust experience in criminal defense, handling complex cases across federal, state, and local levels. Bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish are highly advantageous.

Job Duties:

• Report directly to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney.
• Manage and oversee a caseload of criminal cases, ensuring efficient and effective case progression.
• Regularly interact with clients, advising them on their legal rights and updating them about their case status.
• Collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal assistants to develop defense strategies.
• Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide strategic advice following each hearing.
• Manage court appearances and trials and draft various legal motions.
• Conduct interviews with witnesses and perform thorough legal research to strengthen client defense.
• Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents to guide strategic planning.
• Provide comprehensive legal analysis to uncover potential case benefits and accrue additional supportive evidence.
• Prepare clients for depositions and establish essential goals for case strategies.
• Gather information from witnesses and experts to corroborate the client’s position.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of criminal defense experience.
• Proven track record of managing complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in the state of California.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of California.
