Job Overview

A prestigious AmLaw 100 firm is seeking an experienced Patent Agent to join its IP Patent Prosecution Team in the Intellectual Property Practice Group. Ideal candidates will have a strong academic background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of one year of law firm experience. Duties

• Meet with clients to discuss patent-related matters.
• Conduct patentability analyses to assess the potential for patent applications.
• Draft and file patent applications, ensuring compliance with legal and technical requirements.
• Prosecute patent applications before the USPTO.
• Perform patent diligence and related tasks, including reviewing and analyzing patent portfolios.

Requirements

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least one year of law firm experience in patent prosecution.
• Must be registered to practice before the USPTO.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

Education

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Certifications

• USPTO Registration (required).
