Job Overview

A prestigious AmLaw 100 firm is seeking an experienced Patent Agent to join its IP Patent Prosecution Team in the Intellectual Property Practice Group. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and dynamic environment, servicing sophisticated clients on regional, national, and international levels. Ideal candidates will have a strong academic background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or Electrical Engineering, with a minimum of one year of law firm experience. Duties

  • Meet with clients to discuss patent-related matters.
  • Conduct patentability analyses to assess the potential for patent applications.
  • Draft and file patent applications, ensuring compliance with legal and technical requirements.
  • Prosecute patent applications before the USPTO.
  • Perform patent diligence and related tasks, including reviewing and analyzing patent portfolios.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least one year of law firm experience in patent prosecution.
  • Must be registered to practice before the USPTO.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Certifications

  • USPTO Registration (required).
