A law firm in Boston is seeking a Mid-Senior Biotech IP Associate Attorney with 3-8 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in the biological sciences, exceptional client service skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

 

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in the biotechnology field.
  • Evaluate patent portfolios and provide strategic advice to clients.
  • Perform due diligence investigations related to intellectual property matters.
  • Conduct legal research on biotech-related patent issues.
  • Provide counsel on patent infringement and validity matters.
  • Communicate directly with clients to understand their needs and objectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex legal matters.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and internal teams.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-8 years of relevant experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Strong technical background in the biological sciences.
  • Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a law firm setting is desirable.
  • Excellent academic credentials from a reputable institution.
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

 

Education:

Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.

 

Certifications:

Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
