Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Studio City, CA. The ideal candidate will be passionate about advocating for injured individuals and tenants, including those from low-income and underserved communities. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level attorney to grow their litigation skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Duties

  • Handle personal injury and habitability cases from intake through resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Manage the discovery process, including drafting and responding to written discovery.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
  • Communicate with clients to provide case updates and legal advice.
  • Appear at hearings, mediations, and case management conferences.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant law and legal precedents.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of litigation experience, preferably in personal injury or habitability.
  • Experience managing cases through all phases of litigation.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Confidence in communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
