Associate: Mergers & Acquisitions

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate with private equity and M&A experience to join the M&A/Corporate practice in Chicago, IL. This role involves advising privately held and high-growth companies, venture capital funds, private equity funds, and corporate strategics on equity and debt financings, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, corporate restructurings, and general corporate matters.

Duties

• Advise and lead drafting efforts for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and private equity transactions.
• Lead due diligence processes.
• Conduct and oversee legal research.
• Ensure clients' interests are represented and protected.

Requirements

• 4+ years of M&A and/or private equity experience.
• Admitted to the Illinois bar (or ability to become admitted) and in good standing.
• Strong academic record and intellectual curiosity.
• Commercial and business awareness.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree (LLM or foreign equivalent) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to the Illinois bar.
