Job Overview

Duties

  • Advocate for clients by understanding their needs and developing strategic action plans.
  • Manage a full caseload, providing personalized attention to each client.
  • Negotiate and settle cases through mediation and settlement conferences.
  • Litigate cases and motions that cannot be resolved through settlement.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Meet with clients to gather necessary information and discuss financial data.
  • Facilitate positive client experiences to encourage referrals and repeat business.
  • Divide marital assets during divorce proceedings and draft marital balance sheets.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure high-quality work.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Georgia with no disciplinary history.
  • Minimum of three years of family law experience in Georgia, or one year with extensive paralegal experience.
  • Experience managing family law or criminal cases from start to finish.
  • Knowledge of Georgia family laws and familiarity with metro Atlanta judges.
  • Trial experience in divorce and child custody cases.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to manage deadlines efficiently.
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in technology and able to learn new systems quickly.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active member of the Georgia Bar Association.
