Attorney/Litigator - Labor & Employment

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an exceptional attorney with 3 to 5 years of labor and employment experience to join their practice in Braintree, MA. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing and oral advocacy skills and have experience in municipal law, litigation, and collective bargaining. This role offers the opportunity to work with experts in a collegial atmosphere.

Duties

• Provide strategic counsel on employment law matters, including anti-discrimination and anti-harassment laws.
• Negotiate and draft collective bargaining agreements and employment contracts.
• Represent clients in arbitrations and litigation at state and federal courts.
• Prepare and represent witnesses in legal proceedings.
• Conduct and advise on internal investigations, including Title IX.
• Draft and amend policies and employee handbooks.
• Conduct legal research and communicate advice to clients.
• Provide training to elected officials and school administrators.

Requirements

• Strong advocacy and courtroom experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to draft and file legal documents effectively.
• Knowledge of rules of evidence, civil procedure, and appellate procedure.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Discretion and diplomacy in handling sensitive issues.

Education

• Member of the Massachusetts bar in good standing.
