A law firm based in Vienna, VA, is currently seeking an experienced IP Litigation Attorney with a strong background in Mechanical Engineering to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in intellectual property law, particularly in handling complex litigation cases involving patents, trademarks, and copyrights.

Duties:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of intellectual property litigation cases, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on issues about intellectual property law, infringement claims, and relevant case law.
  • Develop and execute effective case strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Represent clients in various court proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and other legal professionals to gather evidence, prepare witnesses, and present compelling arguments.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to clients on intellectual property matters, including risk assessment, settlement negotiations, and enforcement strategies.
  • Stay abreast of developments in intellectual property law and industry trends to provide informed guidance and representation to clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE degree) is required.
  • Coursework in electronics, microprocessors, electrical technology, RDBMS, and object-oriented programming is preferred.
  • 12-16 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on intellectual property litigation.
  • Admission to the state bar in Virginia and in good standing.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and technologies.
  • Proven track record of successfully handling complex IP litigation cases from inception to resolution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.

Education:
