The law firm is seeking a highly qualified Mid-level Patent Agent for its Phoenix office. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, extensive law firm or industry experience, and exceptional communication skills. This role involves patent preparation and prosecution, focusing on electrical engineering, computer science, and related technologies. Admission to the USPTO is required.

 

Duties:

  • Conducting patent searches and analysis of prior art.
  • Drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Communicating with clients to understand and assess their intellectual property needs.
  • Providing strategic advice on patent portfolio development and management.
  • Collaborating with attorneys and other professionals on legal strategies.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer science.
  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • 4+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Solid understanding of patent laws and regulations.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Specialization in patent prosecution related to electrical engineering or software-related technologies.
  • Experience in data science, AI, or networking technologies, with a focus on network security.
  • Familiarity with machine learning, artificial intelligence, and hardware security.
