Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in South Bend, Indiana, is seeking a qualified and experienced Litigation Attorney with 3–7 years of practice to join its litigation team. This full-time opportunity is ideal for an attorney who enjoys managing litigation matters from inception through trial and is looking to advance their career in a collegial and growth-oriented environment.

Location:

  • South Bend, Indiana

Duties:

  • Manage all stages of litigation, including:

    • Client consultations

    • Drafting pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda

    • Conducting discovery and depositions

    • Preparing for and participating in trials and court hearings

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, conferences, and depositions

  • Collaborate closely with firm partners on complex legal matters

  • Mentor junior attorneys or associates as needed

  • Handle a diverse caseload across several practice areas, which may include:

    • General Civil Litigation

    • Business & Commercial Disputes

    • Trust & Estate Litigation

    • Employment and Government Litigation

    • Other areas as assigned based on firm needs

Requirements:

  • 3–7 years of litigation experience, preferably with trial and courtroom exposure

  • Ability to manage cases independently, while also functioning as part of a legal team

  • Strong oral advocacy and written communication skills

  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service

  • Ability to mentor or support less experienced attorneys

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Indiana (required)

Skills:

  • Legal research and analytical proficiency

  • Strategic thinking and litigation planning

  • Drafting and argumentation of legal motions and memoranda

  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities
