Job Overview: A law firm in Germantown, MD, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bankruptcy Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of bankruptcy cases assigned to them, provide legal counsel to clients, and ensure the efficient and effective resolution of bankruptcy matters.

Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of bankruptcy cases assigned, including new client intake, legal research, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in court proceedings.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding bankruptcy laws, procedures, and options.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff on complex bankruptcy cases and legal strategies.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of the client's financial situation to determine eligibility for bankruptcy relief.
  • Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions, motions, pleadings, and other court documents accurately and timely.
  • Represent clients in bankruptcy hearings, trials, and negotiations with creditors.
  • Stay updated on changes in bankruptcy laws and regulations to ensure compliance and effective representation of clients.
  • Assist with other legal matters and duties as assigned by the firm.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law with a focus on bankruptcy cases in Maryland.
  • Active membership in the Maryland State Bar Association.
  • Proficiency in using CRM/case management software for organizing and managing caseloads.
  • Strong understanding of bankruptcy laws, procedures, and court rules.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.

Education and Certifications:
