Senior IP Litigation Associate

Job Overview:

A distinguished law firm is seeking a Senior IP Litigation Associate with 6-9 years of experience in patent litigation to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a technical background in molecular biology or advanced chemistry and extensive experience managing high-stakes intellectual property disputes. This position offers the opportunity to play a leading role in trial preparation, motion practice, depositions, and expert reports in a fast-paced, high-caliber legal environment. Candidates for Counsel positions may also be considered.

Location:

• Washington, DC

Duties:

• Manage complex patent litigation matters, particularly in biotechnology and biologic pharmaceuticals.

• Lead trial preparation, motion practice, and expert report development.

• Conduct and defend depositions of expert and fact witnesses.

• Oversee discovery processes, including e-discovery and document management.

• Develop litigation strategies in collaboration with senior partners and clients.

• Mentor junior associates and contribute to business development efforts.

Requirements:

• 6-9 years of IP litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting.

• Strong technical background in molecular biology or advanced chemistry.

• Experience in trial proceedings, motions, depositions, and expert report management.

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.

• Proven ability to handle complex litigation matters with minimal supervision.

• Strong case management and leadership skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in a state bar with the ability to practice in Washington, DC (or willingness to seek admission).

Skills:

• Expertise in biotechnology and pharmaceutical patent litigation.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic-thinking abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
