Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Intellectual Property Litigation Associate to join its Washington, D.C. office. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in intellectual property litigation, with a focus on patent, trademark, and trade secrets cases. A background in a technological or scientific field is preferred.

Duties

  • Conduct early case assessments and investigations, including analysis of accused products and prior art.
  • Draft invalidity and infringement claim charts and assist with contentions.
  • Prepare pleadings and motions, and handle related meet-and-confers.
  • Manage complex discovery and negotiations, including e-discovery tools and vendors.
  • Prepare claim construction briefs and hearing materials.
  • Collaborate with experts on reports and testimony.
  • Prepare deposition outlines and exhibits.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in intellectual property litigation.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and writing skills.

Education

  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in a technological or scientific field preferred.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and conducting legal research.
  • Experience with e-discovery tools and managing complex discovery processes.
