Associate Attorney Professional Liability

Job Overview: A leading legal recruitment firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney specializing in Professional Liability to support a well-established law firm's office in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This role primarily focuses on defending clients in professional liability cases, including claims involving architects, engineers, attorneys, accountants, and real estate professionals. The successful candidate will manage cases end-to-end, collaborating with clients and claims partners to provide timely litigation updates and build robust defenses for favorable outcomes.

Duties:

• Represent clients in professional liability cases, managing litigation from initiation through resolution.
• Draft and prepare legal pleadings, motions, trial briefs, and settlement proposals.
• Collaborate with insurance carriers and insured clients to develop litigation strategies.
• Conduct thorough analysis of written discovery, depositions, third-party records, and assess claim value for risk exposure.
• Provide regular updates to clients and claims partners on case progress and strategy.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and caseloads.
• Proficiency in handling discovery, drafting pleadings, and preparing motions.
• Attention to detail and proactive approach to managing responsibilities.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active and in-good-standing license to practice law in Tennessee.

Skills:

• 1-2 years of experience in insurance defense litigation or a closely related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with insurance defense matters and billing practices.
• Strong skills in writing, drafting, advocacy, and analytical thinking.
