Senior Family Law Attorney

A law firm in Muskegon, MI, is seeking a Senior Family Law Attorney with 5+ years of law practice experience. The ideal candidate will have a successful mediation and trial experience record, strong legal research skills, and excellent communication and advocacy abilities.

Duties:

• Conducting legal research and analyzing complex legal issues.
• Writing memorandums, briefs, letters, and other legal documents.
• Marketing own and the firm’s services to prospective clients.
• Performing discovery of electronically stored data and hard copies of information in preparation for litigation.
• Performing due diligence in all matters.
• Managing a schedule to allow for consultations and closure of consults.
• Closing consults within the firm's specified range.
• Timely approval of invoices and ensuring support staff are fully utilized and productive.
• Updating case management systems accurately and completely.
• Actively engaging in brand expansion through various channels such as blogs, social media, and organization participation.
• Seeking positive feedback from successful client engagements and reviews.
• Billing an average of 1500 hours annually, with collections expected on 1400 hours of invoices worked.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of law practice experience.
• Successful record of mediation and trial experience.
• Excellent legal research skills.
• Strong communication and advocacy skills.
• Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school.
• Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the bar in the state of practice.
