A law firm seeks a Coverage and Bad Faith Litigation Attorney for its office in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling insurance industry side coverage work and defending insurers in bad faith cases and declaratory relief litigation.

Duties

• Analyze coverage issues and research coverage questions.
• Write coverage opinions for commercial, personal, and specialty lines insurers.
• Draft reservations of rights and coverage disclaimer letters.
• Prosecute and defend insurance declaratory relief actions.
• Defend insurance bad faith actions.
• Research and draft motions for summary judgment.
• Engage in all phases of coverage/bad faith related discovery.
• Participate in coverage/bad faith settlement procedures, including mediations.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in coverage and bad faith litigation.
• Experience in defending claims professionals in depositions.
• Proficiency in written and deposition discovery.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the State Bar of California.
