Family Law Attorney

Job Overview:
A growing law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a skilled and motivated Family Law Attorney to manage a variety of family law cases. The ideal candidate will have experience handling matters such as divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, adoption, and domestic violence. This position offers the opportunity to work with a supportive team while maintaining a caseload from inception to resolution, providing exceptional client service, and contributing to the firm’s growth.

Location:

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of family law matters from inception to resolution
• Conduct client consultations and provide legal advice
• Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and agreements
• Perform legal research and stay current on family law
• Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations
• Communicate effectively with clients, outside attorneys, and support staff
• Track and manage billable hours
• Collaborate with paralegals and staff to ensure efficient case management
• Maintain strong professional relationships with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the state bar and in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in family law
• Strong knowledge of family law principles and procedures
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the state bar and in good standing
