Bankruptcy Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established personal injury and bankruptcy law firm is seeking a Bankruptcy Attorney to join its legal team in a hybrid capacity, based in Akron, Ohio. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a licensed attorney with at least two years of bankruptcy experience to handle a diverse caseload while gaining hands-on courtroom and client-facing experience. The role includes legal research, document drafting, client interaction, and court appearances within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Location:

• Akron, Ohio

Duties:

• Represent clients in bankruptcy proceedings, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 filings

• Draft and review legal documents such as petitions, schedules, motions, and correspondence

• Conduct legal research and provide case analysis to support litigation and settlement strategy

• Attend hearings, mediations, and client consultations

• Organize and manage case files, ensuring deadlines and procedural requirements are met

• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and trustees

• Assist with matters involving foreclosure defense, debt discharge, creditor claims, and asset protection

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in bankruptcy law (internships or clerkships in bankruptcy are considered)

• Familiarity with Ohio state and federal bankruptcy procedures

• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently

• Strong desire to assist clients in overcoming financial and legal challenges

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the State of Ohio (required)
