Job Overview:

Duties:

  • Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney

  • Communicate with fiduciaries, beneficiaries, and financial advisors to ensure efficient estate execution

  • Conduct legal research related to evolving state and federal tax laws impacting estate planning

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of substantive experience in estate planning, probate, and trust administration

  • Understanding of estate and gift tax planning principles

  • Background in private practice or related professional setting (e.g., trust officer or fiduciary advisor)

  • Proven ability to manage files independently and work directly with clients

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to ethical client representation and professional responsibility

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of Michigan, or the ability to obtain admission promptly

Skills:

  • Excellent legal drafting and analytical abilities
