Duties:

  • Advise clients on complex borrower-side private credit, acquisition finance, and leveraged finance transactions.
  • Handle all aspects of private equity acquisition financings, including structuring and negotiation.
  • Lead due diligence efforts, drafting, and reviewing transaction documents.
  • Provide legal guidance on financing strategies for private equity-backed transactions.
  • Collaborate with other teams across the firm to deliver integrated legal solutions for clients.
  • Stay informed about market trends, regulatory changes, and best practices within private equity finance.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in borrower-side private credit, acquisition finance, or leveraged finance.
  • Proven expertise in sponsor-side private equity acquisition financings.
  • Strong technical knowledge of finance transactions and legal complexities.
  • Ability to manage large, high-stakes transactions independently and effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on client service and relationship building.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in the state of Illinois (or willingness to obtain).

Skills:

  • Expertise in finance law, including private credit and acquisition finance.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Client-focused with a keen ability to identify and address client needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex legal matters.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal communication skills.
