Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Foreclosure Associate Attorney to join its team in Leesburg, VA. The Associate Attorney will manage foreclosure cases, provide legal counsel, and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards. Job Duties:

  • Develop and share subject matter expertise with co-workers and external clients to achieve client objectives.
  • Continuously improve knowledge of relevant legal issues across jurisdictions where the attorney is barred.
  • Research and review unfamiliar legal concepts to increase understanding.
  • Develop and demonstrate an understanding of the assigned area of practice and related practice areas.
  • Discuss and review legal concepts with senior attorneys to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Exercise good judgment and apply legal principles effectively when advising or responding to inquiries.
  • Manage risk and respond timely to issues raised by staff, borrowers, or clients.
  • Provide clear and efficient responses to questions from staff and clients regarding processes, operations, or legal requirements.
  • Escalate client communication requests when necessary.
  • Review and ensure the legal sufficiency of documents to achieve client objectives.
  • Verify documents' content, quality, accuracy, and legal sufficiency and correct them as needed.
  • Monitor and complete attorney tasks in a timely.
  • Escalate questions exceeding experience level to senior attorneys.
  • Support other practice areas to achieve client objectives and balance workloads.
  • Collaborate with Towne Auction and eTitle to comply with legal and client requirements.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with law firm members.
  • Oversee file progress to meet milestone targets.
  • Provide legal oversight and counsel to staff on legal and process requirements.
  • Educate staff to satisfy the firm’s contractual and ethical obligations.
  • Provide feedback to senior attorneys on performance affecting client deadlines and expectations.
  • Apply legal judgment and process knowledge to facilitate client timeline goals.
  • Provide clear directions on files and develop strategies for aged files.
  • Participate in workgroups, client calls, and other discussions as requested.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of foreclosure law experience.
  • Strong Windows and MS Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • Knowledge of Adobe/Nuance Power PDF.
  • Comfort with new technologies/websites and advanced technology/computer use.

Education:

  • Law School Diploma.
  • Acceptance to relevant Bar Association.
  • Evidence of “Good Standing” status with the Bar Association.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar license in the relevant jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
