Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Estate & Elder Law Associate Attorney to join their growing team in Blue Bell, PA. The ideal candidate will have a passion for estate planning, trust administration, and elder law, along with a client-focused approach. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys on a variety of complex matters and to contribute to a highly collaborative practice. Duties

  • Draft and implement estate plans ranging from simple to complex, aimed at protecting assets, minimizing taxes, and achieving clients' goals.
  • Manage the administration of estates and trusts, including probate and trust administration from start to finish.
  • Advise clients on trust and estate documents, fiduciary duties, and beneficiary rights.
  • Prepare and file petitions to safeguard clients' interests and fulfill their legal needs.
  • Draft and oversee the establishment of Special Needs Trusts.
  • Handle Medicaid long-term care applications and guardianship cases.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of support staff, including Probate and Trust Administration Coordinators, Medicaid Coordinators, and Drafting Coordinators.
  • Assist business owners with legal matters related to establishing and maintaining business structures.
  • Attend required court hearings, primarily Orphans’ Court, in the Philadelphia area, and travel to client homes and other locations as needed.
  • Consult with clients to convert leads into clients and handle ongoing client relationships.
  • Collaborate with clients' financial advisors, insurance professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide excellent client service and maintain a strong client base.
  • Participate in ongoing education, including CLEs and firm-sponsored training, to stay current with legal developments.
  • Assist the managing attorney with seminar and webinar presentations, as well as other speaking engagements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of legal experience, ideally with a focus on estate planning, elder law, and probate.
  • At least 1 year of experience specifically in Estate Planning and Elder Law (probate experience is a plus).
  • Strong analytical skills and a detail-oriented approach to legal work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain legal concepts to clients.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal issues and think creatively to find practical solutions.
  • Court experience, particularly in guardianship or estate litigation, is preferred.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently while maintaining high levels of client service.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for working with sensitive client matters and maintaining confidentiality.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania.
  • Active or eligible for licensure in New Jersey is a plus.
