Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Contract Appearance Attorney in Dallas, TX, to join their team on a flexible, appointment-based contract. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an attorney to gain valuable experience in immigration law and further their career in a supportive environment.

Duties

  • Appear in immigration courts for various hearings and proceedings.
  • Accompany clients to USCIS interviews as needed.
  • Represent clients in both non-detention and detained matters.
  • Maintain control of your schedule, selecting appearances within the city/region.
  • Prepare and review case documents, coordinating with the central team.
  • Report hearing outcomes to the central team promptly.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active bar license in the state.
  • Experience with immigration court proceedings or USCIS interviews.
  • Ability to manage your own schedule and communicate effectively with a remote team.
  • Reliable travel within the metro area for courthouse visits.
  • Excellent writing and advocacy skills.
  • Preferred: 1+ year of immigration-law experience.
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish a plus).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.)

Certifications

  • Active bar license in the state
