Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Labor and Employment Attorney to join its team in New York City. The role involves management-side representation and providing general counseling on employment agreements, wage compliance, employee leave, and more.

Duties

  • Represent management in labor and employment matters.
  • Advise on employment and independent contractor agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws.
  • Provide guidance on employee leave and ADA accommodations.
  • Draft and review terminations and separation agreements.
  • Develop and update employee manuals and handbooks.

Requirements

  • Portable book of business is required.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in employment law.
  • Employment litigation experience is required.
  • Labor/union experience is a plus.
  • Admission to NY State Bar is required.
  • Admission to CA State Bar is a plus.
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication and client-service approach.
  • Ability to manage significant individual responsibilities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.

  • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
